
Meet Christina
Hi, I’m Christina Schumann—the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist behind Polaris Nutrition LLC. I’m passionate about whole-person health, food as nourishment, and the lifelong process of self-improvement. My work is rooted in the belief that change is possible—and that it begins with how we relate to food, our bodies, and ourselves.
I’ve been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2006. I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a focus in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan, and I’m also a certified Health Coach and Weight Management Specialist through the American Council on Exercise.
But my story isn’t just about credentials. It began with a revelation: “I want a healthy relationship with food.”
That desire became my North Star—and it still guides everything I do.
Before that moment, I spent over a decade caught in the cycle so many of my clients know well: influenced by dieting culture, chasing plans, rebelling against them, restricting, overeating, and repeating the pattern. I lived through the confusion of yo-yo dieting and the emotional toll of weight cycling. I followed the rules, then broke them, then blamed myself for not being able to stick to them.
Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t me—it was the mindset I’d inherited. That’s when everything shifted.
I stopped chasing control and started seeking connection. I began listening to my body, questioning the rules, and redefining what health meant to me. That journey—personal, imperfect, and powerful—is what led me to pursue my Master’s degree in nutrition and become a Registered Dietitian. I wanted to help others stop dieting and learn to nourish themselves from a place of self-love.
My approach is threefold:

I bring a blend of nutrition expertise, mindset coaching, and practical home economics to every client relationship. My approach is grounded in decades of experience and shaped by my own transformation—from dieting and self-doubt to nourishment and self-trust. Over time, I developed a framework that’s flexible, empowering, and rooted in real-life application. My goal is to help you shift your perspective, reconnect with your body’s signals, and build habits that support your well-being.
